Vision-AI Flow Meter
UMAY
Contactless optical flow and speed measurement via IP camera
Measures the speed of material flow on screens, conveyors or process lines from the camera, without any contact with the material.

- Instantaneous and average speed
- In mm/s, with a live graph
- Completely contactless
- No parts contact the material
- Modbus integration
- Modbus TCP
- Communication with the existing automation system
- No wear parts
- Unaffected by vibration and abrasion
UMAY measures flow speed using image processing alone, without physical sensors. It tracks movement within a defined region of interest (ROI) on the image, converts it to speed in millimetres per second through pixel/mm calibration, and displays both instantaneous and average values with a live graph. The result is transferred to the automation system over Modbus. There are no parts that contact the material or are subject to wear; the system is unaffected by vibration and abrasion.
How it works
Three steps from camera to data.
- 01
Imaging
An IP camera continuously captures the area where the flow passes; the measurement region is defined on the image.
- 02
Analysis
The optical flow algorithm on the edge device tracks movement and converts it to speed through pixel/mm calibration.
- 03
Transfer
Instantaneous and average speed are displayed with a live graph and transferred to the automation system over Modbus.
