Contactless flow measurement at a mining facility

Requirement

Physical sensors measuring material flow on the screen failed frequently due to vibration and abrasion, creating maintenance costs.

Our approach

A UMAY Vision-AI flow meter was installed. The system operates using image processing alone; there are no parts that contact the material or are subject to wear. Flow rate, tonnage and stability values are transferred instantly to SCADA and ERP.

Outcome

The measurement system is unaffected by wear, and flow data is recorded continuously.
